Coverage for wherever you are right now

Health, Medicare, life and protection for Bitterroot families, individuals and business owners. You don't have to know which kind of insurance you need before you call. Tell us what you're trying to figure out, and we'll work through it together.

Protection

For the gaps your health coverage leaves

Supplemental coverage does not replace health insurance. It can help fill gaps, protect savings and income, and give you room to focus on recovery instead of the bills.

Health insurance

Coverage for you, your family, or your team

Whether you are buying your own or covering a team, the questions are much the same. We will help you work out what fits and explain why.

Medicare

Whether you are new to Medicare or reviewing your plan

Three ways to handle what Original Medicare leaves behind. Which one fits depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, and how much predictability you want.

Questions before you choose

The ones that come up while people are still working out what they need.

Yes. From our Hamilton office we are taking on new clients across the Bitterroot Valley and throughout Montana, and our agents are also licensed in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Michigan.

There is typically no additional cost to work with us. As independent insurance agents, we are generally compensated by the insurance carriers we represent.

Our role is to help you understand your options, answer your questions, and help you look at the bigger picture of your health insurance and protection planning.

Yes. As independent insurance agents, we work with multiple established insurance carriers and offer a variety of insurance products.

That lets us look beyond a single company or a single type of coverage, and help you consider options that fit your lifestyle, your budget, your family and your overall protection needs.

We offer a broad range of health and protection options for individuals, families, small businesses and retirees. That includes individual and ACA health insurance, life insurance, disability and income protection, accident coverage, cancer, hospital indemnity, heart attack and stroke coverage, long term care planning, employee benefits, and Medicare coverage.

Absolutely. Insurance and protection needs change through every season of life. You may be buying your own health insurance, starting a family, protecting your income or your business, building a financial safety net, planning for retirement, creating a legacy, or looking for ways to help protect the next generation.

Our goal is to look at the bigger picture, meaning health insurance, life insurance, income protection, supplemental coverage, long term care planning and more, and to help your coverage evolve as your life does. We want to be a resource you can turn to along the way.

They are the same family-owned, independent agency under two names. 406 Insurance serves Montana from our Hamilton office. Our Washington agency, Five-0-Nine Insurance, has offices in Spokane, Yakima and Walla Walla.

Several of our agents are licensed in both states. If you split your time between Montana and Washington, move across the state line, or have family on the other side, you can keep working with the same people. Call (406) 802-9990 in Montana or (509) 979-2578 in Washington.

Gina or another member of our team gets back to you within one business day, by phone or email depending on what you asked for. We learn a little about what you need and set up a time to meet.

Before the meeting we email you a secure form covering permissions, prescriptions, providers and goals, so there is no list to bring with you.

Our Hamilton office is by appointment. That way your time with us is not interrupted, and we have done our homework on your situation before you arrive. Call (406) 802-9990 and we will find a time that works for you.

Yes. We meet in person in Hamilton, by phone, or on Zoom or Teams. If the drive up or down the valley does not fit your day, the conversation works just as well from home.

The first meeting takes about an hour, and it is for learning, not deciding. We go over your current coverage, your doctors, your prescriptions and what you are trying to protect, and we explain how your options work. Nothing is decided that day.

Afterward we research what is available to you and meet again to walk through the choices together.

Not sure which one you need?

Most people are not. Tell us what is going on and we will work out which of these fits, or whether you need something at all.
